End user licence agreement

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use Contralto on the number of Macs your purchase covers: 3 for a Personal licence, for one person; 5 in one household, for personal and non-commercial use, for a Family licence; 10 or 25 for a Team licence, the licence for organisations and any commercial use. The 14-day trial may be used on any number of Macs for evaluation.

2. What you may not do

Resell, rent or sublicense the software; remove or defeat the licence checks; reverse engineer it except where the law allows regardless of this clause; use it on more Macs than your licence covers.

3. Updates

A licence includes every update to version 1.x. A future major version may be a separate purchase, with a discount for existing customers.

4. Refunds

You may ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, through Polar (the merchant of record that sold you the licence) or by writing to support. A refund revokes the licence key.

5. What the software does to your Mac

Contralto changes macOS settings you choose and rewrites keyboard shortcuts while it runs. Every settings change is recorded so it can be undone from the app. You remain responsible for your Mac and your data; keep a backup, as you should with any software.

6. No warranty, limited liability

The software is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, and our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.

7. Termination

The licence ends if you break this agreement. You can end it at any time by deleting the software.

8. Governing law

The governing-law terms will be confirmed with the first public release.
